KARERI LAKE
Kareri lake is located at an elevation of about 2950 meters in kangra district of himachal pradesh. It is a perfect holiday gateway if you want to switch off from your monotonous routine and get close to nature.
Surrounded by mountains and alpine tress, the kareri lake trek is formed by the flow of the water bodies from the minkiani peak. Kareri lake trek is best for beginners as well as experienced trekkers. The total trek is 13kms. It takes around 8 to 9 hours to complete the entire trek in one go during summers (because in winters the trek gets completely covered by the snow). The trekkers can encounter up to 6 feet of snow at the lake during that season. But if one actually wants to adore the beauty of this isolated trek, it is advisable to take one night halt at rioti, which is also known as midpoint of the trek and then continue the terk on next day, in this way you will have plenty of time to spend at kareri lake.
